Harvestmoon Sweater Chest in Solid Maple, Cherry, or Walnut
The Right Size, Made Responsibly:
How you approach your wardrobe depends largely on the capabilities of your furniture. Yes, each piece in your bedroom should look beautiful, but it also helps to have a special place for things most dear to you. At 4 ½ feet tall, Maple Corner's Sweater Chest is a true keepsake, designed and built with their characteristic knack for elegance in simple proportion, along with the enduring quality of expert, handmade artistry.
Construction is entirely of heartwood in either maple, cherry, or walnut, while all panels are carefully selected from sustainably harvested trees. Notable design elements include the tapered posts, gentle base plate arch, and beveled top that fit neatly into the Harvestmoon aesthetic, as well as contrasting walnut drawer pulls, each formed with a shallow arch of their own to continue the theme of perfect line down to the last detail. When searching for a nicely sized piece to round out your living space, this Sweater Chest is a noteworthy candidate both for the beauty and functionality it brings to your home.
Furniture from Maple Corner Woodworks is customizable beyond the standard options provided on our site. We will look forward to working with you to achieve a unique, built-to-order piece, either by phone or by contacting us through e-mail.
Maple Corner Woodworks furniture is made by expert craftsman in Calais, Vermont.
Dimensions: 43" width, 20" depth, 54" height
Drawer Pulls: Fashioned from walnut on all dressers, with a slight arch along the façade.
The door is 17 ¼" wide, behind which are included three (3) adjustable shelves.
Maple: The sapwood from hard northern maple trees is preferred for its figured detail and rich, golden color.
Cherry: Heartwood is used exclusively throughout each piece.
Walnut: Heartwood is once again used exclusively in each piece. Note there is additional cost associated with building any piece of furniture from walnut.
Maple Corner dressers are constructed with mortise and tenon joints. Similar to the deadbolt in your front door, a solid wood connection is formed between components by securing the tenon between each piece, locking into the mortise. This joint is vastly superior to metal plates and screws as it prevents fracturing under sheer stress, and is a major contributing factor to why some pieces of furniture last while others do not.
